KICKING THE HABIT: a short story in 4 pictures...
by Enrique Sanchez, Katie Cilluffo, and Kermit the Frog
On Saturday we went to the Hendersonville Farmers Market at the Historic Train Depot (650 Maple Street) in downtown Hendersonville's Seventh Avenue District. We bought fresh products from six different vendors.==>>
Four of them automatically placed them in plastic bags. <<==
We declined them and and put the products in this re-usable bag ==>>
(hmm... similar to the ones we had used in Argentina 50 years ago...) <<=== |
We saved four bags from going into the ocean today!
Simple math:
Four bags a week = 200+ bags a year = almost half of a Bag Monster!
(1 Bag Monster = 500 bags)
So....whenever it feels a little too tough being green, remember the wisdom of Kermit—
But green's the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green and it'll do fine
It's beautiful and I think it's what I wanna be!
— lyrics by Joe Raposo
So do we, Kermit. So do we.
