On Saturday we went to the Hendersonville Farmers Market at the Historic Train Depot (650 Maple Street) in downtown Hendersonville's Seventh Avenue District. We bought fresh products from six different vendors.==>> | ![]() |
![]() | Four of them automatically placed them in plastic bags. <<== |
We declined them and and put the products in this re-usable bag ==>> | ![]() |
![]() | (hmm... similar to the ones we had used in Argentina 50 years ago...) <<=== |
We saved four bags from going into the ocean today!
Simple math:
Four bags a week = 200+ bags a year = almost half of a Bag Monster!
(1 Bag Monster = 500 bags)
So....whenever it feels a little too tough being green, remember the wisdom of Kermit—
But green's the color of spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean
Or important like a mountain or tall like a tree
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why
But why wonder, why wonder?
I am green and it'll do fine
It's beautiful and I think it's what I wanna be!
— lyrics by Joe Raposo
So do we, Kermit. So do we.
